TDK-Lambda Americas High Power Division joins the LXI Consortium.

Neptune, NJ

TDK-Lambda Americas, High Power Division, has joined the LXI Consortium. LXI (LAN extensions for instrumentation) is a next-generation, LAN-based modular platform standard for automated test systems. As a leading supplier of programmable AC/DC Power, Lambda has joined the consortium to increase the functionality of the Genesys™ series of programmable supplies and support the development of the LXI standard.

LXI combines built-in measurement science and PC-standard I/O connectivity from rack-and-stack instruments with the modularity and size reduction of cardcage-based systems. With LXI, engineers are able to leverage the software and measurement accuracy they currently have from their GPIB instruments to the test system. The LXI standard provides a basis for long life-cycle instrumentation implementations that are not limited by bandwidth, software or computer-dependent architectures.

The Genesys™ series is the industry’s widest range (750W to 15kW) of AC/DC power solutions sharing a common interface. With the LAN interface development, they can provide more flexible system integration and increased functionality for test systems and OEM designers.

About the LXI Consortium:
The LXI Consortium is a not-for-profit (501c3) corporation made up of leading companies in the Test and Measurement Industry. The group’s goal is to ensure interoperability and a consistent user experience by developing, supporting, and promoting the LXI standard. Since announcement in September 2004, many companies have expressed support for a LAN-based T&M standard.

The Consortium is open to all test and measurement companies, and participation by industry professionals, systems integrators, and government representatives is also highly encouraged. Please see http://www.lxistandard.org/about/ for further information.
