Senior Power Design Engineer
TDK-Lambda Americas Inc., a world class manufacturer and distributor of electronic power supplies a leading global electronics company, seeks a qualified
Senior Power Design Engineer to design and develop electronic components, equipment, systems, and products by performing the following duties. This is a full-time position which will be based in San Diego, California.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Circuit design, magnetic design, troubleshooting, repairing, modification, testing, report generation, data analysis including statistical study, electrical simulation and verification, component de-rating and MTBF analysis, familiarity with microcontroller software and firmware design.
- Analyzes data to determine feasibility of product proposal.
- Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design.
- Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
- Directs and coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product or system.
- Plans and develops experimental test programs.
- Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
- Confers with research and other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required.
- Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to developments of systems or other uses
- Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to formulate and test electronic designs.
- Use computer assisted project scheduling software to facilitate overall project planning and management.
- This position may be required to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree (MS/ME) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires minimum ten+ years of power supply design related experience
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must possess the ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel with the aptitude to learn new software programs quickly.
- Ability to effectively present information to management and/or small groups.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills; attention to detail is a must.
- Some travel may be required, including international travel.
Successful candidate will be highly motivated, team oriented and well-organized. Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities.

Electromechanical Designer / Document Control Specialist
TDK-Lambda Americas Inc., a world class manufacturer and distributor of electronic power supplies; a subsidiary of TDK Corporation, a
leading global electronics company, is searching for a qualified Electromechanical Designer / Document Control Specialist, to be responsible
for all systems and procedures related to engineering documentation, which includes processing engineering change orders (ECO), electronic
documents, hardcopy documents, updating bill of materials, tracking changes and revisions control. Data entry to maintain Material Requirements
Planning (MRP) systems for all Engineering controlled fields, and various other systems. Position coordinates engineering documentation control
and distribution to global factories. This fulltime, nonexempt position will be based San Diego, California.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains Engineering Documentation Control Systems to comply with ISO 9001 requirements. Maintains revision control and configuration control on engineering drawings, procedures and bill of materials.
- Coordinates all activities to process engineering documentation changes. This includes receiving and reviewing ECOs and associated redlined documents for configuration control and assessing impact on other documents, processing ECO related MRP changes.
- Conducts data entry in MRP as part of the ECO implementation. This includes adding new parts, bill of material changes, revision changes, etc.
- Revises, and as needed, creates engineering drawings to the support the development and produce support process,
- Coordinates ECO changes with engineering personnel. Reviews proposed changes on ECO and redline/markup documents for accuracy.
- Coordinates and manage distribution of engineering documentation to global factories and sub contractors.
- Addresses engineering documentation questions. Follows up with engineers and issue ECO if required.
- Maintains new parts database to record new parts being introduced.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, Autocad and Solidworks
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Electromechanical Engineer
TDK-Lambda Americas Inc., a world class manufacturer and distributor of electronic power supplies; a subsidiary of TDK Corporation, a leading global electronics company, is searching for a qualified Electromechanical Engineer to research and design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, will participate and coordinate activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems. This is a fulltime, exempt position which will be based at San Diego, California.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Assesses and determines key thermal, magnetic, and mechanical issues with a design as they relate to PCB layout and design.
- Uses schematic capture and design software to create and modify efficient and safe PCB and PCA designs
- Designs mechanical or electromechanical subsystems to support an overall project plan to include mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems
- Participates in or directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems. Evaluates results to insure design conformity to specs.
- Directs and coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
- Coordinates with other areas of the company to insure design conformance to all requirements, such a safety regulations and cost constraints.
- Supports customer and production problems on established products. Recommends design improvements or cost reductions
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BSME degree and minimum of one year of Mechanical Design experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in mechanical design or manufacturing experience with solid modeling and thermal analysis required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel with the aptitude to learn new software programs quickly.
- Must be proficient in Autocad and Solidworks PADS PCB Schematic capture programs.
- Ability to effectively present information to management and/or small groups.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills; attention to detail is a must.
- Some travel may be required, including international travel.
