Power Supply Manufacturer joins the System Management Interface Forum and becomes a PMBus™ adopter
San Diego, CA – March 2016 –
TDK Corporation is pleased to announce that TDK-Lambda has joined the System Management Interface Forum (SMIF) and has become a PMBus™ adopter. This will support the continued development of digitally controlled DC-DC converters using the PMBus, enabling significant reduction in the complexity of system design.
Two PMBus compliant Point of Load DC-DC product families are now released; the 35A rated iJA and the 60A iJB. Both series operate from a wide range 8V to 14Vdc input, have digital adaptive control, and offer configurable sequencing and fault management. The HFE hot swap redundant AC-DC power supplies already have implemented PMBus technology and feature an optional I²C compatible PMBus interface to program the output voltage and current, monitor output voltage, current and temperature, as well as fault monitoring and other features.
TDK-Lambda is currently developing additional high efficiency AC-DC and DC-DC products that will implement the PMBus protocol for intelligent power management.
Details regarding the PMBus standard power-management protocol can be obtained by visiting: http://www.pmbus.org.
